A session bassist by trade, John Baron is no stranger when it comes to the Canadian music scene. Collaborating with artists such as Joey Landreth, Roman Clarke, Field Guide, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald and many more, he has found himself in good company.
In 2019, John began suffering from hearing damage, affecting his mental health and livelihood as a session musician. With no other purpose than to press forward, he began writing the slow grooves and gentle melodies that would eventually become "In the Midst of Everything", his debut album as a composer.
"I found peace in the writing/learning process. I found acceptance of my own suffering and shortcomings and I’ve been practicing disciplined gratitude for things I am so fortunate to have in my own life. We all suffer. We all ask 'Why me?' This album is a gift and a reminder to anyone who is struggling. You’re not alone.”
