KATRINA VAN HUMBECK
Known for her Big Smile, Positive Energy, and Boundless Enthusiasm, Katrina Van Humbeck performs her own unique brand of Jazz Fusion, with a dose of Inspiration. This Western Canadian Music Awards Nominee (2020), Spiritual Artist of The Year, has a voice that is powerful, yet with subtle nuances, and beautifully crafted. With her musical roots in gospel, soul, musical theatre, and opera, her style has been compared to the likes of Celine Dion, Sarah Brightman, and surprisingly, that of a Disney Princess. Katrina began wowing audiences with her singing voice, from the age of fifteen, on concert and church stages around Winnipeg and abroad. Born in Slovakia, formerly known as Czechoslovakia, she immigrated to Canada, as a babe in arms with her refugee parents, and was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She began songwriting as a means of self-expression, and discovered her passion for Jazz performance, as a vocalist, songwriter, and piano player. She has been making waves on the Winnipeg music scene ever since, as a professional musician, recording artist, and educator. She released two studio recorded albums of original songs: Her sophomore album, Doing A New Thing (October 2018), and her debut album, Blue & Beyond (February 2017). both of which reflect influences of the Jazz greats and her background in various musical genres. Katrina's music is inspired by the themes of love, faith, courage, and living life. She hopes that listeners will relate to her music personally, and be moved to experience life in a fuller way. She anticipates on releasing her third album in fall of 2021.
