After years in the bass realm as Sw@t, she began to grow in new directions, exploring and finding new fulfillment in house, techno, and break beats. While her love for bass and snares still shines through, it’s filtered through her passion for house and techno rhythms,making for sets that take the listener on a journey, destination inward.Since this artistic rebirth, Kilma has been pushing the limits of the notions of “artist” and “listener”, merging their worlds, and creating a new dynamic.
Her original work as a producer reflects her eclectic sensibilities. After releasing several tracks and remixes including her “Launisch Madchen (Moody Girl) EP” featuring a collab with Little by Little on Sea Front Recordings. She Has collaborations & remixes with The GOAT, Innocent Gun, The Engineer, and LORYN on the horizon.
Kilma extends her reach beyond the music, and has carved out a position as one of dance music’s most prolific thought leaders. She’s be a guest writer for such publications as DigitalDJ Tips, CdnEdm.ca, Decoded Magazine, DJ Mag Canada, and ThePassionate DJ. She’s developed her own website, DontKilmaVibe.com, to be a treasure trove of advice, insight, and support to DJ’s through her numerous articles and videos.
For years she ran a weekly series “#AskKilma” for Disc Jockey News TV, hosted the weekly “DJ Spotlight with Kilma”, interviewing successful industry Producers & DJ’s from around the world. Alongside the occasional podcast for Cybergroove AM, interviewing industry professionals, showcasing up and coming producers, and talks about the state of the world in event planning, music making and DJing.
All of this gives Kilma a voice that goes far beyond the dance floor, and positions her at the center of the international DJ community. Her unique influence and talent have landed her a spot as a feature performer for LuxeLife Sound, a Canadian company that specializes in high end corporate events and pushing all-female talent line-ups.
