Six Shooter is composed of three business units: a record label (Six Shooter Records), a management company (Six Shooter Inc.), and a publishing company (Girl on a Horse/High Priestess Publishing).
Founded in 2000, Six Shooter Records is built on a mandate of working with respected artists who are committed to a lifetime career in music. Our primary goal is artistic excellence. We recognize that in order for artists to be able to focus on their roles as creators and performers, they require a solid financial and administrative foundation beneath them. Six Shooter accomplishes that goal by fostering fruitful business relationships around the globe, formulating and executing strategic marketing plans, developing a solid touring base, and reliably and honestly fulfilling all business aspects of the artists’ careers in its role as manager, record label, and/or publisher.
The label was launched with artists Luke Doucet and Martin Tielli, and quickly captured the attention of media, industry, and fans in the Canadian market. Since then, the label has released albums by artists such as Tanya Tagaq, Amelia Curran, Whitehorse, William Prince, Elliott BROOD, Justin Rutledge, Hawksley Workman, Jenn Grant, The Deep Dark Woods, Del Barber, The Strumbellas, Zaki Ibrahim, The Dead South, and more. The label predominantly focuses on Canadian artists, and has released more than 130 albums in its history.
Our steadfast commitment to and passion for artist development is how Six Shooter has sustained itself, fostering some of the most defining artists of our time.
Our new motto, I Can Live Forever, speaks to the legacy of art and its makers.
