Star Thistle

About

Star Thistle is a Winnipeg-based indie-folk singer-songwriter who is fond of hyphens.  He has previously recorded and performed stomp and holler dark Americana songs under the name Uncle Sinner.  He plays a bag of different string instruments, and sometimes he gets friends and kin to add further tracks.  The musical style of Star Thistle is gentler than Uncle Sinner, and is focused primarily on the original lyrics that Star Thistle agonized over for far too long.

Star Thistle's influences include people such as Gregory Alan Isakov, Vic Chesnutt, Amelia Curran and Greg Brown.

The debut album, "The Best of Star Thistle", was released on May 24, 2021.  It is available on all streaming platforms.  A limited edition CD can be purchased on Bandcamp.
