Theo Funk

About

Theo Funk is a composer, violinist, and pianist of German origin. Classically trained, he holds an ARCT Diploma in Violin Performance and is active as a performer, accompanist, arranger, and conductor. His work includes teaching violin, leading ensembles, conducting community orchestras, and playing a wide range of gigs. 

His compositions have been performed internationally, including a featured work with the Tapiola Choir in Helsinki, where it received the Singers’ Award in the Tapiola Choir Choral Composition Competition. His music is primarily neo-romantic in style, with a strong emphasis on melody, harmony, and accessibility, spanning solo piano works, chamber music, and large-scale orchestral and choral compositions.

Alongside his musical work, Theo is completing his final year at the Asper School of Business and plans to pursue the CPA designation. He is keen to meet and collaborate with fellow musicians in Manitoba and is open to performances, projects, and creative opportunities across genres.
