To many I am known as Olu Afolabi, the alliace YBK Shakur comes from a nick name I was given in middle school inspired by one of my biggest mentors, Tupac Shakur. YBK stands for Young Black King. The reason for choosing this name is to create an identity that promotes black excellence and success. With a mentality of royalty to match. My goal is to use my platform through my music, and my other projects to create a strong cultural presence across winnipeg. Street culture, youth culture, winnipeg culture. a space of inclusitivity and empowerment.
