Demetra
"Maiden of Ice"

From the album Lone Migration

Featured track, available from January 19 to January 26

The frigid Manitoba temperatures seem like the perfect setting for the release of Demetra's Arctic-inspired debut, Lone Migration. The singer/songwriter/visual artist has been getting quite a lot of attention for the new album, which was produced by John Paul Peters and Matt Peters and released this month on local label Head in the Sand. The likes of The Fulcrum, Uptown, Exclaim, and NOW Magazine have offered glowing coverage and rave reviews, and you can find her on this week's cover of The Uniter. Cinematheque will host her January 25 album release event, which promises music, visual art, photography, and video by Demetra herself, along with an opening set by Keri Latimer. Celebrate the windchill with this week's featured download, Demetra's song "Maiden of Ice", and don't miss your chance to see her live.
