Imaginary Cities
"Cherry Blossom Tree"

From the album Temporary Resident

Featured track, available from March 15 to March 22

Austin is music city right now as SXSW takes over the clubs and streets. Manitoba bands are hitting the stage at the massive music fest, playing the Manitoba Showcase at Maggie Mae's Gibson Room on March 15. Tim "Co-op" Hoover kicks off the show at 8pm, following by Chic Gamine, Les Jupes, Royal Canoe, Imaginary Cities, and Cannon Bros. Long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize last year, Imaginary Cities -- who release their debut, Temporary Resident, in the U.S. on TurnOut Records on April 10 -- landed on Paste Magazine's list of 20 must-see bands at SXSW (Chic Gamine was a top pick by NPR Music and AUX listed Cannon Bros.). They're also up for the Emerging Artist of the Year award at The Indies, which will be handed out during Canadian Music Week in Toronto later this month. After SXSW, Imaginary Cities will cross the ocean for several dates in Germany and Austria before making a stop in New York City next month. If you're not lucky enough to catch them and their Manitoba cohorts live at SXSW, watch their latest videos here, and download this week's featured song, Imaginary Cities' "Cherry Blossom Tree" of Temporary Resident.
