Mezzo-soprano Rhonda Head has a new single to share. Head, an award-winning classical singer from Opaskwayak Cree Nation in Northern Manitoba, has collaborated with DJ/producer Boogey the Beat for her latest release, "Habanera", blending the classical with the electronic. The new song follows up a string of singles available on Head's streaming platforms including 2021's "Keytom Kiwopmitin" and "Old Souls". Head also regularly interviews Indigenous artists on her online show Indigenous Superstars, with upcoming episodes featuring Sandy Scoffield (July 6) and Clint Dutiaume (July 13). She has also opened submissions for the Indigenous Super Stars Music Awards to recognize the unique artistry of Indigenous musicians (the deadline for submissions is September 20, 2021). Put "Habanera" on repeat, tune in for Indigenous Superstars, check our the ISSMAs, and stay tuned for more from Rhonda Head.
