The Resilience
"Journey"

From the album Journey

Featured track, available from August 18 to August 25

The Resilience has been making waves and sharing their important message this summer. The married duo of renowned hip hop artist Hellnback (Warparty, Team Rezofficial) and contemporary hand drum singer Lisa Muswagon are creating an "Indigenized hip hop version of storytelling", releasing a series of acclaimed singles, including the DJ Shub-produced "Penimitawe Ota", which has been in rotation on 103.1 Virgin Radio and is the high energy music behind the recent Tourism Winnipeg logo and campaign launch. Their latest single "9 to 5" was produced by Boogey the Beat while "Enipoyak" is up for Collaboration of the Year at the International Indigenous Hip Hop Awards. They have been dedicated to sharing Hellnback's kidney journey, raising awareness about kidney disease including with their 2021 release "Kidney Warrior", produced by Stomp. You can catch them hosting the TikTok booth at this year’s Morden Corn and Apple Festival, August 26 - 28. They're also currently featured in Spotify's Indigenous playlist. We have their powerful single "Journey", a song in honour of our Residential School Survivors, produced by DJ Shub, for you as this week's featured track. Press play, check out the video below, and stay tuned for much more from The Resilience.
