Richard McKay
"Grandfather Stone"

From the album Grandfather Stone for the People

Featured track, available from June 15 to June 22

Indigenous singer/songwriter Richard McKay has some new tunes to share! He brings his signature mix of grassroots, alternative, and folk sounds on his latest album, Grandfather Stone for the People, produced by Jeremy Rusu. Released last month, the self-penned lead single off the album, “Grandfather Stone”, is moving up the Indigenous Music Countdown's Top 40. Inspired by his mother Anita Neault, a self-taught singer and performer, McKay has been writing and releasing his music on several recordings. He's also active on the Powwow trail in Manitoba, and has earned recognition as a Traditional drum singer. We've got the title track from his album for you as this week's feature. Press play, check out the entire album, and stay tuned for more from Richard McKay!
