The wait for Chuck Copenace's new full-length album is finally over! The Winnipeg-based, Ojibway trumpeter, arranger, and composer is set to release Oshki Manitou, which was recorded by Paul Yee at Stereobus, everywhere on September 29. Local audiences can celebrate the launch with Copenace at the Fort Garry Hotel on October 1 where he'll perform two shows presented by Jazz Winnipeg. Next up, Copenace will hit the road for performances at L’OFF Festival de jazz de Montréal, plus Toronto, Manitoulin Island, Revelstoke, and Nelson BC (keep an eye on his website for tour details).
