Mitchell Makoons is continuing a busy year of music with the release of his anticipated album, Lady Boots! Launched last month, the Métis roots/rocker from Brandon will celebrate the new recording with a pair of release events. He'll be at Winnipeg's West End Cultural Centre on May 17 with a little help from a six-piece all-star band along with KWIAT and Erika Fowler and The Red River Ramblers. Hometown audiences will have to wait a little longer for the Brandon event, which will take over The 40 on July 5 with opener Trevor Cook. Makoons has been steadily building his following, hitting the coveting top spot on the Indigenous Music Countdown for the week of May 11 - 17 for his single "Courage", thousands of Spotify plays, and nods from Front Porch, Canadian Beats, Americana UK, and more.
