Winnipeg-based Indigenous hip hop artist Stun (aka Winston Chubb) crafts award-winning music with a message that runs deep.
With sharp and sincere lyrics, Stun’s stories of struggle and heartache melt into messages of hope, endurance, and love—all existing within an electric soundscape of invigorating tempos, striking beats, and compassionate vocals.
His 2017 album “The Influence” gained traction across the Canadian music scene and features the standout single “Hold The Pride,” which charted in the top 10 on the Indigenous Music Countdown.
His sophomore album, “Braided Up” (2019), and his latest full-length, “Lifestylez of the Fresh & Indigenous” (2022), are vibrant additions to his discography, each with an empowering echo.
Throughout his influential career, Stun has been awarded “Best New Talent” for his self-directed music video, “Play It Right,” at the Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival’s inaugural Indigenous Screen Awards, “Best Hip Hop” at the 2022 Indigenous Super Stars Music Awards, and “Breakthrough Artist of The Year” at the 2022 International Indigenous Hip Hop Awards.
