Syd Bomek is an alternative/indie-pop, singer-songwriter from Winnipeg, Canada. Her diverse and experimental sound captivates and delivers catchy melodies and layered meanings. Bomek shapes her real life experiences into songs that cut straight to the core to connect with her listeners. She desires to bring meaning and purpose to her music with the emotion and passion that she carries in her day to day life. Syd cites Maggie Rogers, and Stevie Nicks as her musical influences in most of her musical projects.

Syd was chosen for RBCXMUSIC's Featured Artists of 2023. This program puts a spotlight on emerging artists with a platform for exposure. This program brings out all 20 artists to Toronto for their artist summit which includes seminars, networking, and mentorship opportunities. 

In 2023, the artist was also chosen by Conscious Economics and the ArtHaus Community as 1 out of 10 artists from all over Canada to be a part of the “Music for Social Change” program. These featured monthly mentoring workshops led by industry experts and icons such as Serena Ryder, included story-telling sessions, collaborative song-writing, and a closer look into how music plays a huge role in social change. The program asked each artist to write a song about 'Social Change,' which was recorded at Arthaus Studios in Toronto, then followed by a culminating songwriting showcase in front of industry icons at the legendary venue, Massey Hall. 

Bomek is currently working on the roll out of her Debut EP 'Reverie' which is set to release in November of 2024, followed by an EP release show at Winnipeg's newest music venue SIDESTAGE.

Newest single 'Now That We're Older' is out on October 15.
