The Young Pixels

The Young Pixels are Danny and Tricia Turner, a heart-powered indie rock-n-roll duo from the farm. Their intention is to be a vessel for truth-telling music that comforts, frees, encourages, and inspires others on the spiritual journey, and to practice and advocate for vulnerability, self-inquiry, self-care, gender equality, conscious partnership, and creating life balance. Their songwriting reflects these values and personal insights from their life, as the pair switch equally between electric guitar, drums and harmonizing vocals to create a simple rock 'n roll sound that is both gritty and melodic. "Cool, heart-tugging crunchy guitar-based indie rock...think Neil Young and Pixies."-(Grant Lawrence, CBC Radio 3 host, CBC Searchlight.)

The Pixels' 2018 EP, "Fever of Becoming" is an introspective offering for the truth-seeker, thinker and dreamer. It explores themes of identity, worth, purpose, belonging and ambition. It's the story of the human desire to move toward the dream that calls, the limitations we all must face, and who we become along the way. For the Turners, it's the challenge to balance artistic yearnings with family life and responsibilities. Fever of Becoming went to number one on the University of Manitoba radio charts Summer 2018.

The Turners formed The Young Pixels shortly after the birth of their first child 13 years ago. Since then, they've released 3 albums, 2 EP's, and played venues and Festivals across Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario. Their songs have recieved national radio play on CBC Radio One and college radio and been featured in a short film.

In addition to making music, the couple farm organic grains, raise cows and chickens, and live an unschooling lifestyle with their 4 kids near Kenton, Manitoba, Canada.
