What kind of volunteering opportunities are available?
We currently have volunteer opportunities in the following areas: MusicWorks workshops, Passport: Music Export Program summit, research and admin, and other live music events.
MusicWorks workshop and panels are an integral part of what we do here at Manitoba Music. We bring in industry mentors from across Canada and beyond to share their experience and knowledge on an array of music business topics. Workshops run a few times each month in the fall, winter, and spring.
The PASSPORT: Music Export Summit is a week-long event in February. We'll have a bunch of volunteer opportunities like shuttling folks to and from the airport, setting up and tearing down the meeting spaces, preparing some swag bags, and more.
Manitoba Music has many projects on the go and we sometimes have research and admin opportunities during our regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 10AM - 5PM). This can be a great way to build your admin skills and get some behind-the-scene knowledge.
Manitoba Music hosts regular live music events throughout the year. This can be a great way to see local music and connect with the local music community.
What are the benefits of volunteering?
Volunteering can be a great way to develop skills in event management, learn more about music business, connect with the local music community and visiting industry, learn about different professional development topics, learn more about music business, develop basic office skills, and get to know Manitoba Music better.

Depending on the opportunity: our volunteers set up events, take photos, run registration, provide security support, assist with office work, provide transportation for panelists, and assist with tear down.
