Well Sister is the alt-folk music project of Jaymie Von Riesen, from Winnipeg, MB. Her upcoming release, katabasis, is a full-length album chronicling her journey living with and recovery from mental illness. Through thoughtful musicianship and honest storytelling, the album speaks to the groundlessness of uncertainty, of waiting in darkness, and trusting what cannot be seen.

Recorded in Onanole Manitoba, in the living room and shed of dear friends and musical collaborators, Slow Spirit (Eric Roberts and Natalie Bohrn), the album resounds with intimate, raw, soul-filled qualities. It takes you deep into the underworld of a psyche and soul grappling to find hope, asking the hardest of questions, and emerging with morsels of light to illuminate the way.
