Beyond the Bandstand: Marketing Jazz Artists and Recordings

The jazz audience is a highly specialized market, with knowledgeable and dedicated fans. Jazz artists are often so dedicated to their craft, that they don't spend enough time thinking about how to get their music out into the world. Connecting audience and artist is the key to a sustainable career as a jazz artist. If you are a musicians who wants to record, tour, and market themselves beyond the next local club show, this workshop is for you.

The workshop will help artists, managers, and agents better understand the current state of the jazz market and give them tips and techniques for successfully marketing jazz artists and recordings. Scott and Alain will discuss how they plan, produce and release jazz records, how they work with artists to market themselves with live touring, festivals, and an online presence, and how they build a fan base for an artist, and sell records.
