Manitoba Music is excited to partner with the Manitoba Loud Music Awards to present a workshop series for metal, loud, and hard music makers!

This series will offer practical training on protecting your voice and your body, a Q+A with local legend Jeremy Hiebert of Comeback Kid, and a chance to network with other people working in the local loud music communities.

2PM Pit Protection | How to Move to Loud Music Without Hurting Yourself

Loud music is one of the most physically demanding genres to enjoy live. Bumps, bruises, and strains are often some of the unwanted souvenirs we bring home with us from a great show; but they don’t have to be. Whether on stage or in the crowd, knowing how to protect yourself will make everything the music more enjoyable. We’ve invited Kinesiologist and heavy music lover Edward Miller to show us how to move to loud music safely.

3PM Do Yourself A Favor | Q+A with Jeremy Hiebert of Comeback Kid 

One of the best ways to learn is to learn from a legend! We’re lucky to have a professional guitarist with over two decades of international album releases and world touring experience as a member of one of our county’s most celebrated hardcore bands right in our backyard! Comeback Kid’s guitarist Jeremy Hiebert will sit down with us to answer any questions you might have about his career in the hard music industry, touring, and any other advice he might have to share.

12PM- AHHHHH! How to Scream with Carol-Lynn Quinn

In loud music the scream is one of the most exciting tools in an artists’ vocal arsenal when done correctly! It can also be one of the most strenuous if done incorrectly. We’re happy to bring back vocal coach Carol Lynn Quinn to teach us how to scream effectively and safely.
