About

Manitoba’s Aboriginal music community is growing in both size and strength. This two-hour discussion will provide Aboriginal artists with a chance to meet members of the local media and learn about the coverage they provide along with the best way to attract their attention.

Sky Bridges, Director of Marketing for the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network

Sky Bridges has held diverse positions in the broadcast industry, covering both the private sector with PrideVision TV and the public sector with the CBC. He has also served as Vice-President of Business Development at the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business and, in this capacity, developed a tremendous insight to the strengths of Aboriginal Peoples across Canada.

Jen Zoratti, Staff Music Writer for Uptown Magazine
Jen Zoratti is a professional music journalist based in Winnipeg. She's the staff music writer at Uptown Magazine, Winnipeg's alt street-weekly, as well as a freelance writer for a variety of national print and web-based publications (chartattack.com, Chart Magazine, UR Magazine and The New Pollution among them.) She sits on the jury for the Polaris Music Prize, and is a frequent contributor to Manitoba Music's quarterly newsletter.

Kim Ziervogel, producer of Ab-Originals on CBC Radio 3
Currently working at CBC, gathering together Aboriginal artists to invade CBC Radio 3 and make it a fantastical promotional tool for them; get the music out to new fans; and have fun doing it! 

Melissa Spence, Music Director for Streetz FM & Writer/Host of the National Aboriginal Music Countdown
Music Director and host for Streetz 104.7. She is also the writer and host of the weekly syndicated countdown music program, The National Aboriginal Music Countdown which airs every weekend in Manitoba on the NCI FM radio network along with 8 other Aboriginal Radio Networks across Canada.

RAS Creative is a strategic communications company specializing in publicity and promotion, writing and editing, project management, and consulting and research. Since 1995, company founder and president RoseAnna Schick has provided services to more than 60 film and television productions, over 50 special events and creative projects, and dozens of musicians.
