Breaking out of your home town and into other parts of the province or country is hard enough. What about an entirely different part of the world? In this session, you’ll learn techniques, strategies, and the nuts and bolts of taking your act overseas to the UK. CIMA’s UK/EU manager, Shain Shapiro, will be on hand to discuss issues such as immigration, branding, strategies for approaching labels and festivals, and more.

About Shain Shapiro

Shain Shapiro is the UK/EU manager for the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA). CIMA is Canada's largest music trade association, and helps promote the export activities of Canadian companies and bands while assisting European companies and bands importing into Canada. It promotes events, advocates for stronger policy, assists in infrastructural development, and develops stronger networks internationally.
