Learn the tools and techniques that go into a successful recording from one of Canada’s most sought after producer/engineers.

Manitoba Music is excited to welcome internationally-acclaimed producer Howard Redekopp as the first instructor in our new Producer in Residence series. For three days, Howard will be in the Manitoba Music Resource Centre mentoring aspiring and established Manitoba producer/engineers, September 22-24. Howard will play examples of his work from pre-production demos to completed final recordings – and discuss the production decisions that went into making records by some of Canada’s top independent bands. For one of the three afternoons, participants will be given the opportunity to play and discuss examples of their own production work.  Based on his years of experience, Howard will offer invaluable insight and advice on producing unique, world class recordings.

About Howard
Howard Redekopp is a Vancouver, British Columbia-based Canadian music producer/mixer/engineer. In 2009, Rolling Stone magazine ranked one of Howard’s projects, The New Pornographers’ Electric Version, #79 in the “100 Best Albums of the Decade”.

Manitoba Music’s Producer in Residence series is a creative and business development opportunity for local producers to gain greater access to experienced professionals for production and engineering advice. The program brings established and celebrated producers to Manitoba to spend a number of days working in small group sessions with local producers. ----------------------------------------------------------------
