About

Artists big and small are enjoying the financial and marketing benefits of placing their music in film, television, and advertising productions. However, many don’t know how placement deals work, how to best shop their material, and how to follow-up and capitalize on opportunities. This workshop will cover the hot topic from pitch to payment and beyond.

About Chris Budd

Chris Budd formed Bearsuit Publishing, a publishing and song pitching company partnered with Aporia and Endearing Records, in Vancouver in 2007. Budd creates licensing opportunities for his artists in television, film, advertising, and video games. He is also the owner/editor for the Toronto music blog, Indie Music Filter. Since its creation in January 2006, the site has built up a reputation as a trusted source for new music, focusing on song and video premieres and custom mixtapes and playlists.

About Michael Perlmutter

Michael Perlmutter spends his days and nights watching films and TV, listening to music, reading scripts, negotiating, and moshing. His previous work included stints in advertising (U2 “Pop Tour”), music publishing (EMI Music Publishing Canada), artist management, and as director of music supervision at SL Feldman & Associates. He now owns and operates Instinct Entertainment.
