Music Industry Gathering – Heart of Canada – Middle of Winter

The third annual January Music Meeting welcomes some of Canada’s top music industry pros in a conference format that includes group sessions, discussion groups, networking mixers, and one-on-one meetings. Reps from the label, agency, management, festival, publishing, and publicity sides of the industry will converge on Winnipeg to discuss the state of Canada’s independent music industry and provide concrete advice on how to succeed in the constantly evolving music business.

January Music Meeting offers Manitoba's music community a rare opportunity to network with a cross section of tastemakers and experts from across the country while connecting with local artists and industry peers.

This year’s sponsors include CIMA, Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP, Music Managers Forum Canada, SOCAN, MROC, and BreakOut West.

All events will take place in the Manitoba Music Industry Resource Centre, 1-376 Donald Street, unless otherwise listed. Space is limited and advance registration is strongly encouraged.

A summary of the best practices and common pitfalls from the morning asset review.

8PM | MROC NETWORKING MIXER at THE GOOD WILL
Presented by MROC, the networking mixer is an opportunity to rub elbows with the guest speakers, local mentors, and peers.

9:30PM | MANITOBA MUSIC SHOWCASE AT BIG FUN at THE GOOD WILL
Featuring performances by Colour Revolution, Ghost Twin, and Sc Mira. Another great opportunity to continue building your JMM connections.

Creative series stimulating conversation on ideas in music management.

Exclusive one-on-one mentor sessions with some of Canada’s most experienced music industry pros. This is a unique opportunity to meet one-on-one with industry mentors, learn from their experience, and to ask specific career questions. N.B. Mentor meeting spots are limited and will fill quickly.
