Manitoba Music and Manitoba Country Music Association invite you to kick off Manitoba Country Music Meeting and the MCMA Awards weekend! We will welcome our industry delegates with a brief introduction panel and a warm networking mixer with finger foods and refreshments. This event is free, open to all Manitoba Music and MCMA members, and no RSVP required.

11AM | DIY Artist Strategies for the Country Artist

Creating a brand, building a fanbase, gaining exposure, planning a successful tour, and shaping a team are all important components to establishing a music career, but how do these things come into play for a DIY country music artist? This workshop will be conducted by industry professionals who have navigated their way through the trials of the music scene and used strategies to build successful careers for artists, and themselves in the country music world.

1:30PM | Rising to the Chart-Topping Challenge

With radio play being the key to a successful career in country music, the importance of a great song and the work that goes into it must be understood. It doesn't happen overnight but takes a slow build, working with the top artists and writers, securing a publisher, and eventually finding a professional who can plug that song for airplay. This workshop will bring advice on how to enter the world of publishing, co-writing, and what it takes to nurture and promote the perfect song in country music.
