Manitobans don't really need an excuse to get out and take in some of this province's incredible talent. We're known for our arts and culture scene, including numerous internationally-acclaimed musicians, composers, visual artists, dancers, poets, and writers. So when Nuit Blanche and Culture Days comes around, there's always plenty to see and do and hear.

Culture Days is a collaborative coast-to-coast-to-coast volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. The fourth annual Culture Days weekend runs September 29 through October 1, and features thousands of free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind-the-scenes”, to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, designers, and other creative people in their communities. this year, there are several  music events throughout Culture Days' run, including the Wall-To-Wall workshop with DJ Shub at Studio 393; numerous performances at The Forks including Bubba B The MC, Casati, The Noble Thiefs, Spruce and The Meadowlark, and more; Dave Quabury's The Exile Brass Band on the Trolley; and more. Check out the Culture Days site for more.

On Saturday night, Nuit Blanche will take over for an all-night exploration and celebration of contemporary art. The Nuit Blanche concept originated in France in 1984 and has since spread to many cities around the world, making its Winnipeg debut in 2010. A range of events are focused in Winnipeg's Downtown, the Exchange District, The Forks, and St. Boniface. You can find more Nuit Blanche music listings in our free MB Live app and our online listings and check out a sampling of what you can catch right here...
