About

After a brief recap of last year’s radio workshop – detailing how to approach radio, tips for getting played – participants will get an insight into effective terrestrial radio tracking and promotion technique and protocol. We will also touch upon different markets, how to identify these markets and the residual effects of radio’s influence on its listeners, and how to prepare a tracking report. Finally, we will show participants how being aware of each radio add produces more rotations which subsequently helps them chart.

Speakers:

Bobby Gale – Plug
In a nutshell, Gale’s original background is in radio, on air & music programming; key roles in 5 major radio markets/stations (Windsor (CJOM aka 89X), Detroit (W4), Winnipeg (Q94), Montreal (CHOM) & Toronto (Q107)) in just under 10 years, followed by more than decade developing my radio promotion/publicity/marketing/product & A&R skills with a multi-national record company (PolyGram). Since leaving that sector close to 15 years ago, he has been working independently, offering national radio promotion/publicity/A&R services to some pretty gratifying results for a good number of artists, many of whom are now established, gold/platinum sellers. Dale Peters – Dale Speaking
Since the creation of Dale Speaking Inc. in 2004, Dale is now the master of his own destiny. Dale Speaking Inc. rests solely on the premise that Dale only works with artists and in the service of music that he likes, that he believes in, and that he knows he can get other people to like and believe in. That’s the way Dale earns the confidence of the artists who entrust him with their work, and the respect of the media people who take his calls. (see www.dalespeaking.com for more info)
