About
Orbiting around the gravitation center of traditional jazz and an old-school groove aesthetic, the music of Cain-Fournier-Gatien-Platz blends exploration of new compositions with re-imaginations of jazz standards.
All part of the faculty at the Brandon University School of Music, Michael Cain (piano/keyboards/electronics), Greg Gatien (saxophone) Gilles Fournier (bass) and Eric Platz (drums/percussion) have performed around the world and bring their diverse experiences, influences and eclecticism to this new musical collective. For their Nu Sounds performance, the group will be celebrating the release of their recently-completed (and as yet untitled) recording.
