About
Our week-long Mahlerfest, devoted to the life and work of Gustav Mahler, opens with one of his most unforgettable works, the Resurrection Symphony. Mahler tackles the big questions: What is life? Why are we living? What comes next? He answers the quest in his Resurrection Symphony: a life-affirming journey through human joys and travails, with a transcendent finale inviting the start of a new and different life, a life without judgment, where everyone is equal. In the words of Norman Lebrecht: “More than any other symphony Mahler’s Second acquired a mythical dimension, defining the lives of those who embraced it.”
