Mercy Mercy has been a fixture on Winnipeg's blues/roots scene for almost a decade, and has produced two CDs. Chris Palmer, on harmonica, 12-string and vocals, has a musical background beginning in his native England in the late 60s, when he worked with such luminaries as George Harrison, Joe Cocker, David Bowie and Eric Clapton. He also performs as a solo artist, singing his many deeply-textured original songs. Darryl Torchia, on guitar and vocals, has been active in Winnipeg music circles for almost fifty years. He composed the official theme for Winnipeg's Centennial in 1974, has shared the stage with many of Winnipeg's top players and is an influential music instructor and clinician, as well as one of the city's most versatile guitarists.
