About
JESSEE HAVEY and FAMILY
Jessee Havey, lead singer of the Grammy Award winning super-group from Winnipeg "The Duhks" - that is making a name for itself on the national and international music scene - will make a special musical performance at the Grant & Wilton Coffee House.
Accompanying Jessee on the program will be Karen Dana and Harry Havey, both accomplished musicians and singers in their own right, bringing together a brand of music that is unique to this second and third generation musical family. Come share in this rare, intimate, musical performance.
AISHA BELLE with Special Guest LINDSAY WOOLGAR
Even before she knew what the instrument was called, Aisha Belle began playing the violin at the age two. Aisha has studied violin and voice. She does not quite fit the mold, but the effect is inspiring and emotional. Aisha does what come naturally: with her Celtic roots roused, she becomes the muse. Subtle touch and artistic musicality give way to the lush sound and poignant sense that is fitting in times like these.
Inventing, constructing, and challenging the standards of her craft, Aisha fashions an innovative incline of folk music. Gracefully blending various layers of orchestral polyphony with harmonious melodies, the collaboration is breathtaking and refreshing.
At the first sound, Aisha Belle captures you with the clear and dauntingly pure timbre of her velvet voice. Right in front of your eyes, as she creates a fusion of strings and song, her artistry digs deep and floats to an ethereal resonance. “Just watching her heart spill out, as she strings together poetic lyrics, soulful melodies and luminous playing, it invokes an intense awareness of her gifting...and you must respond.”
