The electrifying pianist Alexander Tselyakov, Russia’s gift to Manitoba, is beloved for his technical perfection, his rich sound and thoughtful musicianship. He is a “phenomenal pianist” (Kitzinger Zeitung, Germany) “…who would raise the roof of any concert hall” (Winnipeg Free Press). His 2011 CD of the complete Chopin Études, was recorded in Germany shortly after he performed them for us. The WSO String Quintet is comprised of the Winnipeg Symphony’s leading orchestral players who revel in performing chamber music. The featured work is a rare chamber performance of Chopin’s second piano concerto (and the Hummel quintet is a delightful surprise!)
