Joey Penner has been writing songs since age fifteen. He studied jazz and classical bass in university and was a member of Juno-nominated band The Waking Eyes, as well as Royal Canoe, Jicah, and French Press. His influences include Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Donovan and many others. 

Bicycle Face is melodic synth pop with electric guitar and intricate harmonies. Idiosyncratic lyrics tell stories of ambivalent fairy tale heroines, lost love in outer space, and computer viruses intent on world domination. The duo will draw you in with a sound akin to whimsical Metric, or Joanna Newsom with effects pedals.
