Once again, the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ invites everyone to participate in the annual Canada Day Living Flag event on Canada Day, July 1st. For the sixth-year anniversary of this annual event, and 51st anniversary of the Canadian flag itself, the photo will be returning to Shaw Park, home of the Winnipeg Goldeyes. The photo will be set to the backdrop of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, the Provencher Bridge, the Esplanade Riel, and The Forks.
Since the inaugural event in 2011, over 18,000 Winnipeggers have assembled downtown dressed in red and white patriotic attire, to create a living Canadian flag. Attracting young and old, Canadians of every heritage, the event’s location at the ballpark offers a great kick-off to Canada Day festivities.
