The Serious Willies are Boyd Barber on electric guitar,  Nancy Ullenboom on acoustic guitar and Ray Ullenboom on bass, mandolin, and percussion.  We feature solid harmonies and have stories to tell. We like to think that our original songs are written in the tradition of John Prine and perhaps even Townes Van Zandt.  Boyd is a retired millwright,  Nancy is a nurse, and Ray is an insurance broker. We initially met via the house concert circuit and soon discovered that not only do we both have children [Derek Ullenboom and Del Barber] that derive most of their income from playing music professionally,  but that we share a very similar taste in the development and performance of original material. Our songs are those of the prairie and urban landscapes. We have completed our first recording.
