About
JD and the Sunshine Band was born out of the music recording module of the Sunshine House Solvent User’s Recreation Project (SURP). It is a collaboration between musicians and street-involved folks who participate in Sunshine House programming.
What is Sunshine House?
Sunshine House is a community drop-in and resource centre focusing on harm reduction, population health promotion, and social inclusion. They are a gap-filling organization that works with folks in under-served populations, providing programming that fulfills people’s social, community, and recreational needs. They use a harm reduction approach in their programming, meaning that people come as they are, and are not expected to be ‘clean’ or sober.
