The Park Theatre is proud to present the iconic hip-hop duo Dream Warriors on January 30th. This stop is part of their 'Legends of the 6IX' tour, which coincides with their 25th anniversary as recording artists.

Dream Warriors were formed in 1988 and became an award-winning Canadian hip-hop duo comprising of King Lu and Capital Q. They were major contributors to the jazz rap movement of the late 1980’s and early 1990s. Hailing from Jane & Finch in Toronto, the pair of deft, intelligent rappers released their 1991 debut album on 4th & B’way/Island Records UK, And Now the Legacy Begins. This album is considered one of the finest alternative hip-hop albums of the golden era. The album was critically acclaimed and sold well in Canada, the United Kingdom, all across Europe and Asia, before becoming an underground hit in the United States.

The album spawned the hit singles "Wash Your Face in My Sink", "My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style", and "Ludi". The first two singles hit the Top 20 in the UK, selling close to one million records Worldwide, including a GOLD album in Canada and the duo earned a Juno Award for "My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style". In 1992, they recorded "Man Smart, Woman Smarter" for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer soundtrack. Before the release of their second album Subliminal Simulation in 1994, the duo became a group with the addition of rapper Spek and DJ Luv. In 1996, they released a third album, The Master Plan, before the two new members left the group a year later. The duo released a highly-regarded greatest hits album in 1999. Their final album, The Legacy Continues...,..was released in 2002.

Dream Warriors remained the #1 selling hip-hop Canadian group Worldwide for almost two decades. They are currently celebrating their 25th anniversary with Universal Music unleashing a Worldwide campaign consisting of digital albums, along with vinyl LP’s and 45 vinyl singles to celebrate this iconic Canadian group. The visionary Dream Warriors will also be releasing new music, while touring Worldwide.
