Stacey James is a female from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She had a love for music at a very young age, as her mother was a singer/poet as well. Growing up listening to some of the most amazing creators of soul ” The Funk Brothers”. She developed a passion and her own flavor for soul. Stacey James began at age 7. Writing poetry, short stories & lyrics. After being gifted a trumpet and the self teaching process already in motion on the keyboard. Stacey than moved to acoustic guitar, again she found it brought her music to another level. Which has now grown to tenor sax, bass guitar, fiddle, and more to come as her exploration of instruments continues. Stacey began performing at various places at age 14.Thanks to the encouragement from two great friends who pushed her out of her shell and onto the stage. Looking to explore musically, Stacey joined band “GroovePort” as lead vocalist & songwriter for the funk/rock band.After the band had parted ways Stacey went on to find players for her own band the now “Stacey James & The KiK”. Stacey James has been given the opportunity to share the stage, write for and/or with many,many artists throughout North America and Europe. Stacey has many plans for the future with all projects she is currently involved in, being a singer songwriter and composer of nearly all genres, and an active creator seeking her next adventure, her journey is endless….Aside from Stacey’s love of the arts she is also very passionate about helping others , inspiring and motivating this can be heard through her music. She keeps herself busy working on different initiatives to help women and raise awareness on various subjects among others. Upcoming cd release for Stacey James & The KiK, “Orange”-collaboration album with Barry Kaaz, “My Life , My Lyrics” the book, and her latest children book series.
