They met through a shared interest in Scottish Country Dancing, and draw upon traditional Scottish and related celtic traditions for a lot of their material. It’s a living tradition – modern compositions such as Song for the Mira and Away From the Roll of the Sea fit well with older tunes.

Lynn and Peter are part of the “Music To My Ears” programme for Artists in Health Care Manitoba. Shirley has joined in for impromptu concerts at Cancer Care, and the Trio usually gets together for a Christmas concert at Jocelyn House Hospice, where Lynn plays regularly.

The Celtic Trio enjoy practicing around a dining room table, with breaks for tea and cookies, and are always happy to be playing in an environment where people are enjoying food and drink.
