About
Tickets are on sale NOW for the Winnipeg Crankie Festival. The festival will benefit Home Routes FolkSchool, a new educational project that is part of the Winnipeg-based house concert network Home Routes/Chemin Chez Nous.
The First Annual Winnipeg Crankie Festival takes place at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, September 21-23, 2018, and brings together the finest in Winnipeg’s Musical, Spoken Word and Visual Arts community. The Festival offers an opportunity for all festival goers to participate on- and off-stage in what will truly be an interactive and collaborative festival experience by introducing the community to “Crankies.” Crankies are a storytelling art form popular in the 19th Century and a forerunner of modern-day film.
Evening Main Stage Variety Shows, occur the weekend of Sept 21-23, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, and day time events occur at the Main Stage on Saturday and Sunday, Sept 22-23. All performances feature established and celebrated Folk Musicians from Winnipeg and beyond.
