Music Director Daniel Raiskin conducts his first livestream of the season, in a concert celebrating Vienna and two of the most famous young prodigies in classical music.

Although he wasn’t born in Vienna, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was certainly adopted as the city’s favourite son. Spending his most creative and successful years in the city, Mozart’s Serenade No. 11 is a work for small ensemble featuring clarinet, horns, bassoons and oboes, first performed in Vienna in 1792.

Part of a series of 13 symphonies for string orchestra, Felix Mendelssohn was only 12 years old when he wrote his Sinfonia No. 7. Rarely played by orchestras, this vigorous and energetic work highlights his technical skills well beyond his years.

Current ticket holders: Your ticket to the concert also includes access to the livestream of the performance on Friday, November 27 at 7:30 pm CST.

You will receive an email prior to the concert with a private link and instructions on how to watch the concert from home. The concert will be available for viewing for approximately 72 hours after the livestream.
