Winnipeg Moses Mayes, Canadas funk fusion collective, is set to release their new full length studio album 'Second Ring' on November 7, 2006.

'Second Ring', produced by Jamie Shields (the New Deal), will be the third full length by Winnipeg based Moses Mayes. The new record features the classic Moses Mayes sound combing classic 70s funk fusion with modern house elements and turntable cuts. The new effort sees the band venture into a new era with the inclusion of four vocal tracks featuring the stylings of Sherry St.Germain, Areane Jean (Madrigai) and PHATT Al (God Made Me Funky). Second Ring bounces from classic funk grooves and smooth electronic melodies to punchy horn lines and old school keys.

This is by far the best record weve ever done, explains Grant Paley, Turntablist of the band. We decided to expand on what weve been doing over the last 7 years and make a record that reflects a wider variety of our influences. This album was definitely a collaborative effort Jamie and Adam, our producing team, brought their own personal musical insight into what we wanted to accomplish and helped bring the songs to a point beyond what we had been envisioning.

Keyboard player Nathan Reimer continues, And of course every musician added their own musical interpretation of what Moses Mayes has been doing all these years. Were very excited about the direction of this new record.

Second Ring will be released nationally on November 7, 2006 through Fusion 3 Distribution and Dublum Records and will be available worldwide through iTunes stores and other digital distribution outlets. A national tour to promote the album is planned for this fall/winter.
