Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi award winner Ian Tyson is celebrating five decades of performance in 2008 with a full schedule of concerts, a television special, and final preparations for release of a childrens book based on his song La Primera. With shows planned from coast to coast in both Canada and the United States, Tyson continues to keep his loyal fans in awe with songs that range from his classics Four Strong Winds, Someday Soon and Navajo Rug-- to his newest works which he continues to write with inspired vigor. At age 75, Tyson maintains a performance and work schedule on his Alberta ranch, nestled in the foothills of the Rockies, that would rival men and women who are generations his junior.

As a true musical historian of the old west and a seasoned horseman, Ian Tyson treats his fans to an intimate evening of music and narrative portraits that begin with his story of the first horse to land on American soil and culminate with fifty years and more of his own life experiences.

Ian Tyson will perform in Winnipeg at the Burton Cummings Theatre, October 31, doors 7 pm, show 8 pm.

Tickets are available at The Festival Music Store or at Ticketmaster, 780-3333, ticketmaster.ca.
