Ashes and Dreams' new collaborative EP with Polish artist bARTek (based in Luxembourg) premiered on Muzyczna Polska (Musical Poland) -  THE SOUND MAGAZINE on Thursday Dec. 3, 2020.

The full EP was officially released on Spotify this week, with a lyric video accompanying newest single, Montego Boy

The EP's debut follows the release of first single Lose Your Fear in July. Since then, the collaboration has received airplay on Radio ARA Luxembourg, and coverage on music blogs like Pan Winyl and Bartosz Po Prostu.

Present, Imperfect was months in the making, and the recent coverage is welcome news for both bARTek and Ashes and Dreams.

Earlier this year, bARTek was supposed to fly to Canada but his flights were cancelled because of recent lockdowns. Thankfully, German air carrier Lufthansa refunded his flights, which will hopefully be rescheduled in the new year. From the article (translated to English):

"After several years of mainly remixing with Lisa Saunders, from the Canadian-British group Ashes and Dreams, this year, in June, Bartek was supposed to meet her in Canada. Instead of a face to face meeting, they made music. Lisa wrote the lyrics and recorded the vocals, Bartek took care of music production and composition.

It took them several months to complete the whole thing and it is completely different from his typical trip-hop fascinations. This change was influenced by the lockdown, Bartek wanted to create something that would make you move and dance. This EP is therefore influenced by electro house and in a sense techno, but "calmed down", so that it does not tire you with noise while inspiring you to dance."

You may check out the EP on Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer and iHeartRadio here.
