Les Surveillantes have recently released their first full-length album
"La racine carrée du coeur" (translated, it means "The Square Root of the Heart"). Crafted during the spring and summer of 2010, the album is a testament to both the band's nuanced songwriting and creative bravado showcased during live performances. Wanting to experiment with new sounds and old-world wisdom, the band enlisted the help of veteran producer Norman Dugas, pre-production consultant
Nicole Brémault, and musicians Christian Dugas, Richard Moody,
Karin Carlson among others to add to this square,
roots-inflected album.
