WCMA Festival Invades Winnipeg
The fourth annual Western Canadian Music Awards are taking over Winnipeg stages for three nights of fantastic music from some of western Canada’s most exciting bands, October 19-21. With over 70 bands on 11 stages and acts from almost every genre you can think of, there’s an awful lot to choose from. Let manitobamusic.com be your guide with the full schedule of bands for the WCMA Festival (local acts in bold).
The WCMA Festival isn't the only event taking place during the WCMA visit to the Peg. There is also a music conference featuring some of the top names in the industry, from Pink Floyd's original manager Peter Jenner to singer/songwriter extraordinaire Jann Arden.
Arden also performs at the WCMA gala on October 22 at the Burton Cummings Theatre. While trophies will be handed out, local audiences will be treated to performances by Madrigaia, Curb Lund, Doc Walker, Mood Ruff, Alana Levandoski, Eagle & Hawk, House of Doc and many more.
There's enough going on in Winnipeg to forgo sleep for a few days...
