This feature gives you an inside look at our upcoming MusicWorks panelists. In this installment, we meet Karen Bliss, who will be on hand for our 'Writing Pros: Compelling Bios and Press Releases' workshop on Wednesday, November 7.

Karen is an established music journalist whose work has appeared in print and online for RollingStone.com, MSN, AOL, Elle Canada, Billboard, Hits, Pollstar, The Toronto Star, Lowdown on Jam.Canoe.ca, and dozens of other publications. Along the way, she has interviewed Kurt Cobain, Shania Twain, Eddie Vedder, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Jimmy Page, Avril Lavigne, Lenny Kravitz, Britney Spears, and thousands more. She also operates her own online magazine, Samaritanmag.com, about people making a difference, and has released an animated, anti-racism PSA, The Girl With Pinhead Parents, on YouTube, voiced by Nelly Furtado, Chris Bosh, Jully Black, LIGHTS, and others, based on her kids picture book of the same name. She is also creator of the Fan Lowdown book series, which launched with the multi-platinum-selling rock band Hedley. And has started a record label, Daycare Records, whose first signing is The Danger Bees (thedangerbees.com).
