Farewell Joel Couture

Posted on

Joel Couture will be leaving Manitoba Music for new opportunities after our Rame à la rencontre event in November.

Joel has been a vital part of our team for five years. He started with us in 2013 to coordinate our newly-launched Francophone music development activities and became an important bridge for Francophone music communities across the western provinces. Joel’s undeniable ability to build genuine relationships has helped open many doors for our association and the music communities we serve.

Through his work with the Francophone Music Development Program over the years, he has helped many artists build their business, access new music markets, and connect with key industry players and with their peers across Western Canada. He has created and run successful projects including the Rame à la recontre events in Montreal and at Festival du Voyageur, FMP Camp, musiquefrancophone.ca, activities at Contact Ouest, and more, all of which have had an impact on participants’ careers. His unique insight into the opportunities and challenges Francophone artists and music companies face has helped our members reach higher and get further in their goals.

Perhaps above all, Joel has brought warmth to our team. He’s been a smiling face, a steadfast champion, a creative and curious coworker who is the first to offer help.  His perspective, thoughtfulness, enthusiasm, and generousity will be greatly missed. We’ve learned a lot from him.

We wish Joel the very best in all he does!
